Manager Operations, Airside Operations is responsible and accountable for successfully plan, organize, and manage Aircraft Services functions and safety operation. Responsible for day-to-day operations and safety compliance of Jazz stations, ground handlers and other external suppliers under responsibility. Work in a close partnership with the Airport Safety Organization.
Safety First:
- Ensure all safety and security risks are identified, investigated, and resolved with corrective actions and verification of effectiveness.
- Support airport managers and frontline staff through ongoing self‑audits to maintain consistent Safety, Security, and Service standards.
- Oversee implementation and auditing of Air Canada SOPs and lead regular follow‑up meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with IOSA, SMS, OHS, and all applicable regulatory authorities (TC, COSH, CARS).
- Support management and ground handlers in safety, security, and customer service activities.
- Anticipate and resolve safety, security, service, and operational issues with the branch safety team.
- Apply Emergency Response and Environmental Plans and lead or oversee investigations.
- Allocate operational resources (material, human, financial) to ensure safe and secure operations.
Key Functions & Accountabilities:
- Manage daily operations at assigned stations and ensure effective, timely performance of the aircraft services team.
- Maintain regular communication with staff regarding new products, performance issues, and branch objectives.
- Encourage employee feedback, address concerns, and recognize service excellence.
- Collaborate with other departments and suppliers to meet service and operational requirements.
- Provide leadership to ensure procedures and processes meet or exceed customer service and performance standards.
- Guide, develop, motivate, and hold the airport team accountable for all aircraft services activities.
- Develop and lead the Station Safety Plan for aircraft and baggage services, ensuring consistent adherence.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work long and irregular hours; strong team player.
- Solid operational background with conflict resolution and employee‑management experience.
- Experience with safety committees and unionized environments.
- Strong understanding of federal regulations (TC, COSH, CARS), risk assessment, and good computer skills.
- Demonstrated punctuality, dependability, and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

- SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Legal requirements (CARS, TC, COSH)
- SMS quality management system
- Pub1 knowledge
- Emergency Response

Le gestionnaire des Opérations côté piste est responsable de planifier, organiser et gérer les Services aéronefs ainsi que les opérations de sécurité. Il supervise les opérations quotidiennes et la conformité en matière de sécurité dans les stations Jazz, auprès des manutentionnaires au sol et des fournisseurs externes, en collaboration étroite avec l'Organisation de la sécurité aéroportuaire.
Sécurité avant tout:
- Identifier, enquêter et résoudre les risques de sécurité et de sûreté, avec mesures correctives et vérification.
- Soutenir les gestionnaires et le personnel via des auto‑inspections continues pour maintenir les normes de sécurité, sûreté et service.
- Superviser la mise en œuvre et l'audit des SOP d'Air Canada et diriger les réunions de suivi avec les parties prenantes.
- Assurer la conformité aux normes IOSA, SMS, SST et aux réglementations (TC, COSH, CARS).
- Soutenir la direction et les manutentionnaires dans les activités de sécurité, sûreté et service à la clientèle.
- Anticiper et résoudre les enjeux de sécurité, sûreté, service et opérations avec l'équipe de sécurité.
- Appliquer les plans d'intervention d'urgence et environnementaux; diriger ou superviser les enquêtes.
- Allouer les ressources matérielles, humaines et financières pour assurer des opérations sécuritaires.
Fonctions clés:
- Gérer les opérations quotidiennes et assurer la performance de l'équipe des services aéronefs.
- Communiquer régulièrement avec le personnel sur les produits, la performance et les objectifs.
- Encourager la rétroaction, traiter les préoccupations et reconnaître l'excellence.
- Collaborer avec les autres services et fournisseurs pour répondre aux besoins opérationnels.
- Fournir un leadership assurant des procédures et processus conformes ou supérieurs aux normes de service.
- Encadrer, développer et motiver l'équipe aéroportuaire et en assurer la responsabilité.
- Élaborer et diriger le Plan de sécurité de la station pour les services aéronefs et bagages.
Qualifications:
- Excellentes compétences en communication, leadership, négociation et résolution de problèmes.
- Capacité à travailler de longues heures et horaires irréguliers; esprit d'équipe.
- Solide expérience opérationnelle, gestion des employés et résolution de conflits.
- Expérience avec les comités de santé et sécurité et les environnements syndiqués.
- Bonne connaissance des réglementations (TC, COSH, CARS), de l'évaluation des risques et compétences informatiques.
- Ponctualité, fiabilité et capacité à performer dans un environnement dynamique.
