Summary

Delta Star Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manufacturing Engineer to champion Operational Excellence (OpEx) across the plant. What You'll Do

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll play a critical role in adapting corporate standards to site-specific realities. You'll ensure that work instructions and training materials are accurate, accessible, and aligned with best practices. Your work will drive efficiency, quality, and safety while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and empowering plant teams.

A Day in the Life

Your day will involve collaborating with operators, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to validate and refine work instructions. You'll analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and implement sustainable improvements. Whether you're facilitating workshops or troubleshooting on the floor, your efforts will help ensure consistent performance and operational excellence.

Specific Duties

  • Adapt corporate work instructions to reflect site-specific processes and equipment.
  • Ensure all documentation is current, accessible, and audit-ready.
  • Collaborate with operators and supervisors to validate practicality and accuracy of instructions.
  • Maintain document control practices to ensure version integrity.
  • Deploy OpEx best practices across the plant in alignment with company-wide initiatives.
  • Support daily management systems, visual performance tracking, and problem-solving tools (5S, PDCA, RCA).
  • Facilitate workshops to reduce waste, improve flow, and enhance safety and ergonomics.
  • Monitor adherence to standardized work and lead corrective actions when needed.
  • Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Quality to implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Participate in CI and cost-reduction projects led by the Industrial team.
  • Provide technical support on the floor to troubleshoot process or equipment issues.
  • Ensure training materials reflect both corporate standards and site-specific adaptations.
  • Work with HR or Learning & Development to maintain accurate training records and skill matrices.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and ownership through coaching and best-practice sharing.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a collaborative and analytical engineer with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent technical experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing engineering, including project management.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and CI methodologies.
  • Experience writing and implementing standard work instructions.
  • Familiarity with OpEx systems, data collection, and process mapping tools.
  • Experience with CMMS software (INTERAL or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software (AutoCAD or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and analytical skills.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Fluency in English required; bilingual in French or Spanish preferred depending on site (DSE/DIW: English; DSN: English/French; DSW: English/Spanish).
  • Must live or be willing to relocate within a safe, reasonable commute to the assigned plant location.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer for U.S.-based positions.

Skills & Competencies

  • Understanding of manufacturing workflows, equipment operation, and process control.
  • Knowledge of time studies, line balancing, and workflow optimization.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001) and EHS requirements.
  • Experience with CI tools (Kaizen, 5 Why, FMEA, etc.).
