We are a community pharmacy located in the heart of Blyth, Ontario, serving our thriving local community. We urgently need a skilled, dedicated, and committed pharmacy technician to join our team.

IMPORTANT: This position requires an official Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) from an accredited program recognized by Canadian regulatory authorities. If you do not currently hold this license, please do not apply.

About the Role:

You will work directly with our pharmacist to fill prescriptions, manage inventory, and counsel patients on their medications. Your day-to-day responsibilities include verifying prescription details, preparing medications for dispensing, processing insurance claims, maintaining accurate patient records, and answering questions from customers about their prescriptions and over-the-counter products. You'll handle high prescription volumes during peak hours while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. This is a hands-on position where you'll be on your feet, interacting with patients face-to-face, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Medication Dispensing: Accurately count, measure, and package prescriptions following established procedures to ensure patient safety.

Inventory Management: Maintain optimal pharmacy inventory by ordering, receiving, and organizing medications and supplies efficiently.

Customer Service Excellence: Provide compassionate, professional support to patients regarding prescription inquiries, medication recommendations, and insurance questions.

Prescription Processing: Review prescription requests for accuracy and completeness, then enter information into our pharmacy system while maintaining strict privacy compliance.

Quality Assurance: Conduct regular compliance checks to meet pharmacy regulations and medication safety standards. Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry developments.

Required Qualifications:

Reliable transportation to and from Blyth, Ontario

MANDATORY: Valid Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) from an accredited Canadian program

High school diploma or equivalent

Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Computer proficiency; familiarity with Fillware Pharmacy software is an asset

Team-oriented mindset with adaptability to changing priorities

High level of professionalism for daily interactions with patients and healthcare professionals

Demonstrated commitment to patient care and community service

Preferred:

Previous pharmacy or healthcare experience (though not required for licensed candidates)
