Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Parts Advisor to join our automotive dealership team. The ideal candidate will manage parts inventory, assist customers with their needs, and support the service and sales departments. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of automotive parts, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service. Experience in dealership operations and familiarity with POS systems are highly valued. The Parts Advisor plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth order fulfillment and maintaining organized inventory records.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct automotive parts and accessories.
  • Manage parts inventory, including ordering, stocking, and organizing parts using dealership systems.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems and handle cash or credit payments.
  • Collaborate with service technicians to ensure timely order fulfillment for repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain organized records of parts orders, returns, and stock levels using CMMS or other inventory management software.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone or in person, demonstrating professionalism and product knowledge.
  • Support marketing efforts by promoting available parts and accessories to increase sales opportunities.
  • Ensure all parts are properly labeled, stored, and maintained according to safety standards.
  • Assist with maintenance of the showroom and parts department to ensure a clean, organized environment.

Skills

  • Previous dealership experience is preferred; familiarity with automotive repair processes is a plus.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Excel, and inventory management software such as CMMS.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for order fulfillment and stock management.
  • Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and negotiation abilities.
  • Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases.
  • Experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service roles enhances effectiveness in this position.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
  • Good math skills for calculating costs, discounts, and inventory quantities.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies related to automotive parts sales is beneficial.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
