The opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Operations, the Vice-President, Platform Owner, Advisor Experience (VP) is a business leader responsible for the vision, strategy, and performance of the firm's advisor and client technology ecosystem.

The incumbent will ensure that technology platforms directly enable business growth, operational excellence, and exceptional advisor and client experiences. Acting as the bridge between Investment Advisors, Operations & IT departments, and external vendors, the VP aligns digital capabilities with the firm's strategy to deliver measurable outcomes, to enhance usability, and to drive adoption across the Advisor network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Platform Stewardship & Governance
  • Own the overall business strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for advisor and client technology platforms.
  • Define business requirements for enhancements, integrations, and upgrades that support firm and advisor growth.
  • Ensure consistency in processes and digital experiences across the advisor ecosystem.
  • Track ROI and adoption metrics to demonstrate business impact.
  • Vendor Relationship Management
  • Act as the primary business contact for platform providers and technology vendors.
  • Manage vendor performance, SLAs, and issue escalation in partnership with IT and Operations.
  • Represent the firm's strategic needs in vendor roadmap discussions to ensure technology alignment with business goals.
  • Platform Configuration & Change Management
  • Own configuration governance and business rule setup to ensure platforms support advisor workflows efficiently.
  • Partner with vendors and IT to validate changes, test new releases, and manage change deployment.
  • Maintain transparent documentation of key workflows, permissions, and user processes.
  • Functional Support & Issue Management
  • Serve as the business escalation point for platform-related issues and service disruptions.
  • Diagnose root causes to distinguish business process issues from technical defects.
  • Partner with IT and vendors to resolve issues promptly and track resolution metrics.
  • Maintain dashboards on ticket trends, advisor impact, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Integration Oversight
  • Define and maintain clear business requirements and priorities for integrations across advisor and client technology systems.
  • Represent the business perspective in integration planning, ensuring solutions enable efficient advisor workflows and client experiences.
  • Partner with IT and Data teams to ensure that execution aligns with business intent and that integration outcomes support firm goals.
  • User Experience, Adoption & Communication
  • Partner with the Training and Advisor Enablement teams to drive adoption and effective use of advisor platforms.
  • Provide business direction, messaging, and prioritization for training and communications related to platform updates.
  • Collaborate on the development of user guides, FAQs, and onboarding materials to simplify platform engagement.
  • Capture advisor feedback and partner with Training to translate insights into business-driven platform enhancements.
  • Compliance & Risk Alignment
  • Ensure all platforms and workflows comply with internal policies, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the firm's risk management objectives by embedding controls within platform processes.
  • Partner with Compliance and Risk teams to conduct periodic audits and strengthen governance.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree or diploma in Business, Information Systems, or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing advisor or client technology ecosystems in financial services.
  • Proven experience in vendor management, governance, and strategic platform ownership.
  • Demonstrated success in driving adoption, process improvement, and business enablement through technology.
  • PM designation an asset.
  • CSC completion preferred.
  • Familiarity with service management tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or Zendesk
  • Proficiency with the MSOffice suite, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional stakeholder and vendor management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of wealth management operations and advisor workflows.
  • Proven experience managing digital platforms and business systems in financial services.
  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable, technology-enabled experiences.
  • Strategic mindset focused on delivering measurable business outcomes
  • Skilled in communicating complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative and highly organized, with a bias toward action and accountability.
  • Business-level understanding of APIs, integrations, and SSO concepts.
  • Experience managing platform configuration and release testing.
  • Demonstrate a high level of accountability, reliability, adaptability, and innovation in accomplishing day to day work and long-term goals.
  • An excellent attention to detail.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and influencing skills; an ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively, across multiple mediums (in-person, over the phone, and virtually).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • A high tolerance for ambiguity; highly adaptive and able to manage a large volume of competing priorities.
  • Strong critical thinking and written and verbal communication skills.

Conditions of employment:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Ability to travel anywhere within Canada, up to 5-20% of the time, dependent on initiatives.
