We are currently hiring for a full time Meat Cutter. As a Meat Cutter you will be responsible for processing and preparing a variety of meats from full carcass for retail case and orders. You will work closely with the team to maintain high-quality standards, safety, and hygiene in a fast-paced environment.

The Meat Cutter's Responsibilities Include:

  • Review daily orders and help fulfill customer and wholesale requirements.
  • Set up production areas and assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing meat deliveries.
  • Record quantities of meat issued to deli, kitchen, customers, and wholesale orders.
  • Break down beef and other meats, trim, portion, and prepare specialty cuts and custom orders.
  • Operate equipment to grind, marinate, cure, skewer, tie, and cryovac meats.
  • Stock and maintain retail cases, rotate products, and create visually appealing displays.
  • Provide product knowledge and excellent customer service.
  • Work closely with team members and assist in training apprentices on cutting techniques and safety practices.
  • Maintain clean work areas, tools, and equipment; follow all safety protocols and food-safe procedures.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Works safely with sharp tools and equipment, including knives, slicers, bandsaws, and grinders.
  • Consistently adheres to workplace safety protocols, hygiene standards, and humane animal-handling practices.
  • Wears required PPE at all times, including steel-toed boots, apron, smock, black pants, and cleanup boots.
  • Physically fit, capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling lbs, and performing repetitive, physically demanding tasks.
  • Able to lift and move beef carcasses safely and efficiently.
  • Handle fresh and frozen raw meat safely and efficiently.
  • Maintains high accuracy and attention to detail while working efficiently on a fast-paced production line.
  • Able to perform repetitive duties while consistently upholding quality and safety standards.
  • Comfortable and able to work in cold, refrigerated conditions for extended periods.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in retail meat or beef carcass breakdown.
  • Food Safe Level 1 or equivalent food certification is required.
  • Strong knowledge of carcass anatomy, retail cuts, and sub-primals.
  • Ability to safely operate knives, saws, grinders, and other meat-cutting equipment.
  • Willingness to learn and apply skills in breaking, cutting, deboning, and trimming various meats.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to safety, hygiene, and food standards.
  • Available to work at least 1 weekend day.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
