PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position is responsible for designing and delivering robust, secure, and scalable system integrations that support enterprise insurance platforms and critical business processes; and for leading and supporting the implementation of integration solutions. This role collaborates closely with Solution Architects to evaluate and enhance integration aspects of solution designs, ensuring feasibility, maintainability, performance, and security.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

  • Design, develop, and maintain integrations between core systems (e.g., Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimsCenter) and external platforms (e.g., CRM, ERP, data warehouse), ensuring compliance with security and data privacy standards with a focus on the protection of personally identifiable information (PII).
  • Build APIs, middleware, and data pipelines using modern integration tools and frameworks, ensuring adherence to secure coding practices and maintainability standards.
  • Review solution architecture designs and provide technical feedback from an integration perspective, including considerations for performance, authentication/authorization standards, maintainability, and security and data privacy risks.
  • Lead integration delivery efforts, including hands-on development, coordination with developers, and collaboration with external consultants, while identifying and recommending replacement of legacy integration code.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues across environments.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for integration components.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects to review solution designs and provide technical feedback on integration feasibility, scalability, maintainability, security, privacy and performance.
  • Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and technical workshops.
  • Maintain clear documentation of integration flows, interface specifications, and technical decisions.
  • Contribute to integration standards, reusable components, and best practices, with a focus on secure design, data protection, and long-term maintainability and scalability.
  • Recommend improvements to integration processes, tools, and frameworks that enhance security, maintainability, and compliance.
  • Participate in Software Development Lifecycle operations as well as CAB (Change Advisory Board) and ARB (Architecture Review Board) sessions.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise IT environments, including 5+ years focused on system integration involving APIs, middleware, and data pipelines.
  • Experience implementing integration in insurance, financial services or similarly complex domains involving legacy and modern systems
  • Hands-on experience with integration tools and platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Apache Camel, Dell Boomi, Azure Integration Services), and API development/testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI, Swagger/OpenAPI) using REST/SOAP protocols.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) for building and customizing integration components, and CI/CD tools (e.g., TeamCity, Bitbucket, Jenkins) for automating integration deployments and managing version control.
  • Knowledge of data formats and transformation techniques, including XML, JSON, SQL, and XSLT, for mapping and exchanging data between systems.
  • Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, JMS, or RabbitMQ for event-driven and asynchronous integrations.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid integration models, including secure connectivity between on-prem and cloud systems.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Data Dog, ELK stack, Splunk) to ensure integration's reliability and traceability.
  • Understanding of secure coding practices and data privacy principles, including handling of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in integration flows.
  • Familiarity with system development life cycle management, IT services management, IT infrastructure and operations, and IT Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adjust to changing conditions in a dynamic work environment.
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize with a strong sense of urgency and transparency.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, proficiency in presentations and group facilitation.
  • Working knowledge of Guidewire applications (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimsCenter) and integration tools such as Guidewire Integration Gateway is considered an asset.
