About SecondaryLink

Launched in 2023, SecondaryLink is the leading intelligence platform for the global private equity and alternative asset secondary market. With a team of more than 20 professionals, we deliver daily market news, in-depth research, proprietary pricing data, and deal-sourcing tools for top secondary funds, investment banks, institutional limited partners, and asset managers.

SecondaryLink's newsroom has built the world's most-read secondaries-focused publication, providing clarity and insight into a historically opaque yet rapidly expanding corner of private markets. Our audience includes the most sophisticated professionals shaping this ecosystem.

Role Overview

We're seeking a Financial Reporter and/or Private Markets Analyst to join our fast-paced newsroom and help expand our daily coverage. The ideal candidate is sharp, inquisitive, data-driven, and dependable — someone who thrives on structured reporting, digs deep into assigned stories, and delivers timely, accurate coverage day after day.

You'll collaborate closely with our Editor, reporting team, and Research division to produce daily coverage that explains the most important developments across secondaries, NAV lending, GP stakes, evergreen funds, and other areas driving private market liquidity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and write multiple stories simultaneously about secondary market activity, deals, fund launches, pricing, and regulation.
  • Merge pricing, fundraising, and transaction data from the SecondaryLink platform with news to add depth and context to stories.
  • Monitor industry publications, filings, and social media for breaking developments.
  • Conduct interviews with market participants (investors, GPs, LPs, advisors, lenders, etc.).
  • Uphold the editorial tone and style of SecondaryLink: authoritative, concise and analytical.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background
: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Journalism or Data Analytics/Statistics.
  • Professional Experience
: 1–3 years of experience in finance, investment banking, investment research, or financial reporting/journalism.
  • Content Knowledge
: Strong understanding of private markets, fund structures, and investment terminology — or proven ability to learn quickly.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to work under tight deadlines, thrive in a high intensity environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional writing and editing ability; can turn complex material into clear, engaging copy.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in both analysis and reporting.
  • Analytical mindset with comfort interpreting financial data, SEC filings, fund disclosures, and deal documents.
  • Natural curiosity, initiative, and enthusiasm for breaking news.

Why Join SecondaryLink?

  • Work at the intersection of private markets, data, and journalism.
  • Join a lean, innovative team with immense room for growth and impact.
  • Regular social gatherings, including our book club ("Second Shelf").
  • Casual dress.
  • Full benefits and paid time off.
