Our projects are primarily on commercial & industrial buildings in Edmonton, Calgary, and smaller centers across Alberta. We have deep expertise in solar, EV charging, battery storage, and LED lighting upgrades.
We are adding design-build electrical to complement our design-build solar in order to serve our customers better. We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Electrical Foreman to lead our team of electricians onsite.

About the Role
The Commercial Electrical Foreman is a self-motivated & experienced professional who wants to excel in the electrical industry. This is a full-time position based out of our Edmonton office, serving new base building shells and tenant improvement projects within an hour of downtown. The primary objective of this role is to execute projects safely, quickly, and efficiently. This position will report to our Field Supervisor.
Primary Accountabilities:
- Supervise and Coordinate Electrical Crews: Plan, oversee, coordinate, and schedule activities of electricians and apprentices installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial electrical systems.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to your team and apprentices.
- Plan Work Schedules: Meet work schedules and align electrical operations with other trades, subcontractors, and project timelines.
- Forecast material, manpower, and equipment needs up to 3 weeks out
- Construction: In between other tasks, perform construction and installation work
- Interpret Blueprints and Schematics: Read and interpret electrical drawings to guide installations and ensure alignment with project specs and timelines. Suggest improvements or changes where needed. Provide redline/asbuilt drawings.
- Coordinate with project management team to ensure projects are running on schedule and budget. Provide insight to on-site changes that may increase productivity and reduce overall job costs.
- Perform ongoing QA/QC inspections upon completion, ensuring systems meet quality, safety, and code standards.
- Commissioning. Perform ongoing commissioning to ensure seamless operation and final evaluations to confirm that all systems are fully operational.
- Ensure work is completed safely in accordance with our Health & Safety, Quality Assurance/Quality Control process
Secondary Accountabilities:
- Coordinate material ordering & equipment rentals
- Travel is not expected with this role, but if required, coordinate travel and accomodations
- Coordinate rough-in and final inspections based on progress with your direct lead.
- Communicate professionally with stakeholders. Ensure you are notifying clients before scheduling site visits and ensure that you have the schedule updated on internal communication boards.
- Inspect & Maintain Equipment: Perform regular inspections of vehicles and equipment. If a tool, lift, vehicle or other equipment is broken, unsafe, or needs attention, bring it to your supervisor's attention and plan to get it repaired.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues using expertise and electrical testing equipment.
Qualifications Required:
- Journeyman or Red Seal certification
- Strong background & technical expertise in commercial & light industrial
- 4+ years as a Journeyman/Journeywoman
- 2+ years in the field as Foreman/Forewoman
- Class 5 driver's license with clean driving record
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of 5-10 employees
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, OneDrive, and Bluebeam
Differentiators:
- Commercial/light industrial electrical construction experience
- Experience with underground electrical installations, trenching, directional drilling, pad layouts, grounding
- Experience with QA/QC processes
Assets:
- ESTS / Arc Flash Training
- Troubleshooting / Maintenance experience
- Current valid safety tickets: CSTS, First Aid, AWP, Fall Arrest
- Forklift, skid steer, or telehandler operator training & experience is an asset
- Proficient with technology & Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc
- Experience with rooftop solar not required

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
