We have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Engineering Project Technologist to join the Engineering department. You will work in a supportive team with the opportunity to attain a wide variety of engineering experience. If you have a passion for making a difference, enjoy working in a dynamic environment, with an amazing team, then this opportunity is right for you This is technical engineering work in designing municipal infrastructure such as water, sewer, drainage and road systems. This incumbent will act as both a designer and as a construction Project Manager representative ensuring compliance with plans and related specifications.

Under the general direction of either the Capital Projects or Design Managers, the incumbent will prepare design layouts, detail drawings, specifications, construction estimates, contract documents and other related data and working drawings. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing design related direction to external Engineering Consultant firms for similar infrastructure projects. As Project Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring both personally, and through engineering inspection staff or a Consultant, the construction of infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with plans and related specifications, schedules and budgets. The incumbent is a key liaison providing project information, assistance and direction to a wide variety of internal and external contacts.

The ideal candidate for this job will have the following qualifications:

  • A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from a recognized Institute of Technology;
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in municipal infrastructure design & drafting, construction, and inspection,
  • Knowledge of common engineering design and construction practices,
  • Experience with Master Municipal Construction Documents and typical engineering computer software,
  • Strong engineering analytical skills,
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and a
  • A valid Class 5 BC Drivers' License
  • Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC (ASTTBC) as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT) or Technician (CTech).
