Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site role for a Medical Receptionist located in Toronto, ON. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for managing appointment scheduling, greeting patients, handling phone communications, assisting with general receptionist duties, and maintaining medical office operations. This role requires professionalism, strong organizational skills, expert level attention to detail, and a friendly, patient-first approach when engaging with patients and team members. The ideal individual for this position is experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is able to work independently with a proven track record of providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Appointment Scheduling and managing calendars
  • Strong Phone Etiquette and communication/interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology, and medical office operations is required to direct inquires to their respective practitioner
  • Capability to perform Receptionist Duties, including greeting clients with professionalism and handling inquiries (ongoing legal, MVA, and WSIB cases, and patient referrals)
  • Expertise in attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to multitask effectively in a high traffic environment
  • Prior experience in a healthcare or medical office setting is an asset
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) software, (ie. ClinicMaster) is an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound telephone calls and email inquiries
  • Booking patients, rescheduling cancellations, and processing payments
  • Direct patient care concerns to appropriate practitioners or staff members
  • File, scan, and maintain patient records
  • Handle insurance billings and claims
  • Maintain a high-level of customer service and professional demeanour at all times
  • Navigating ClinicMaster, extended health portals and similar software during daily clinic operations
  • Use discretion when sharing confidential information on behalf of patients

Ability to commute/relocate

Education

Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience

Front desk: 1 year (preferred)
