Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC's Technology and Operations division. GFT's impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Digital Tools Developer to join our Global Functions and Technology (GFT) team. As a key member of the Enterprise Digital Tools team, you will play a critical role in enhancing the employee experience through the development and implementation of innovative digital tools and solutions. With a focus on meeting the needs of our large and diverse workforce of over 95,000 employees, you will have the opportunity to work across various technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.
What will you do?
Utilize containerization technologies, such as Docker, to streamline development workflows
Ensure consistent and reliable deployment of applications and enhance collaboration among cross-functional teams.
Lead, Develop and support highly scalable, high-performance components within an Agile development team.
Write well-written, well-documented code and integrate between platforms primarily using REST
Ensure high code quality, documented and reviewed with the team.
Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality software products
Analyze requirements, explore options, and recommend efficient solutions, taking into account reusability, security and performance
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
Familiarity with containerization as a primary
Professional software development experience with Java, JavaScript, Node, React, J2EE, Spring/REST/Microservices, Linux, and NoSQL/SQL databases, HTML, CSS, JSON, XML
Experience developing secure server-side services using APIs such as Spring, Spring Batch/Boot, RESTful Web services, Apache Data Utilities, and NoSQL/SQL databases
Experience with DevOps, CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and Automated Testing tools
Hands-on experience writing clean, readable, and reusable Java code with unit tests
Experience using Git and Maven for collaboration with the software development team
Nice-to-have:
Ansible, OpenText TeamSite/LiveSite stack, Messaging/streaming technologies like MQ and Kafka
Big Data (Hadoop/Spark), Building Cloud-ready microservices and containerizing applications, Agile software development
