The Opportunity

Smart Capital Center is seeking a
Fractional Marketing Director
to provide high-level leadership, oversight, and management of our internal marketing team. This consultancy role focuses exclusively on guiding strategy, supervising team execution, and ensuring alignment across the marketing organization.

What You'll Do

Team Leadership & Oversight

  • Manage, mentor, and provide direction to the internal marketing team.
  • Establish clear goals, roles, processes, and accountability across all team functions.
  • Ensure the team maintains high standards of quality, consistency, and timeliness in all deliverables.

Strategic Direction

  • Set overall marketing direction and priorities aligned with company objectives.
  • Translate company goals into actionable plans for the team to execute.
  • Provide ongoing strategic guidance, course correction, and operational clarity.

Performance Management

  • Review team output and provide feedback to improve quality and effectiveness.
  • Oversee performance metrics, reporting, and internal reviews to ensure team productivity and alignment.
  • Ensure the team uses data effectively to guide decisions and optimize efforts.

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Work closely with leadership, sales, and product teams to ensure marketing efforts support broader organizational goals.
  • Guide the team in aligning messaging, timelines, and initiatives across departments.

Operational Structure

  • Assess current workflows, capabilities, and tools; recommend improvements for efficiency and scalability.
  • Identify gaps in team skill sets, roles, or processes and advise on solutions.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between internal team members and external vendors/agencies.

Consultative Leadership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team on all marketing organization matters.
  • Provide high-level recommendations without participating in execution or hands-on production work.
  • Maintain focus on leadership, oversight, and strategic enablement.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience leading and managing marketing teams at the Director/VP/Fractional CMO level
  • Strong background in overseeing marketing operations and team performance
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to bring clarity, structure, and accountability to a growing team
  • Skilled at operating in a consultancy model with strategic oversight only
  • Experience aligning cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments
