Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Logistics Planner to oversee and optimize our supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinates and optimizes the movement of freight to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant deliveries. Key responsibilities include scheduling drivers and shipments, managing logistics IT systems, tracking shipments, and communicating with customers, carriers, and suppliers. This role requires a proactive approach to process improvement and continuous enhancement of logistics workflows to support overall business objectives.
Duties
- Schedule drivers, plan routes, and manage the daily dispatch of trucks to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
- Monitor the progress of all shipments, providing updates to customers and tracking them in logistics software.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for carriers, customers, and suppliers, handling inquiries, providing status updates, and coordinating with all parties to meet customer needs.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and coordinate freight logistics for timely deliveries.
- Ensure all operations comply with transportation regulations, safety rules, and company policies. This can include coordinating truck maintenance and ensuring drivers have the correct documentation.
- Support procurement activities by collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of goods.
Skills
- Proficiency with logistics software and IT systems for scheduling and tracking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of budgeting principles related to supply chain operations.
- Experience with purchasing, procurement, freight management, and 3PL coordination.
- Expertise in demand planning, process improvement methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to analyze data to optimize routes, schedules, and processes.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
