The School of Arts and Sciences, Department of American Studies seeks part-time teachers to teach undergraduate courses in American Studies. Specific courses to be taught will be determined by the department each semester. Courses may be introductory surveys or upper-level courses focused on specific themes or topics. As the instructor of record, the candidate is responsible for preparing the course syllabus, delivering lectures, and leading discussions, assessing student work in a timely manner, holding weekly office hours, responding to student e-mails, and submitting final course grads to the registrar. Some courses will be offered in a range of modalities beyond traditional settings, including hybrids, online, satellite, and/or off-campus locations.

American Studies is the interdisciplinary study of American culture. The Department features distinguished scholars who are dedicated teachers.
