Journeyperson Carpenter

Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, install, and repair permanent and temporary structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and concrete
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials
- Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
- Follow blueprints and building plans to meet client specifications
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
- Use hand tools and power tools to complete tasks
- Adhere to safety protocols and building codes
Qualifications:
- Verifiable experience as a carpenter or Journeyperson carpenter. Journeyperson certification is an asset
- Proficient in various general carpentry techniques and methods
- Knowledge of safety protocols and required documentation
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong mathematical skills for measuring and calculating dimensions
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job (lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods)
- Attention to detail and precision in workmanship
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to pass security clearance for work in government buildings
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to restore or repair damaged structures or fixtures
- Knowledge of concrete forming techniques
Knowledge of framing techniques
Knowledge of general commercial construction tasks
Ability to work on a team and take direction from supervision
Valid drivers license and own vehicle is an asset
