The N'Swakamok Indigenous Friendship Centre (NIFC) is currently accepting resumes for the position of Youth Employment Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide dedicated resources for urban Indigenous youth in Ontario, to improve their lives through culturally relevant services that are readily available and which are delivered through a focused, demand-driven program model.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant College/University level accreditation or a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated and related work experience with youth
  • Knowledge of Indigenous language and culture an asset
  • Knowledge and experience in the area of employment and training initiatives
  • Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with youth-serving agencies
  • Familiar with Apatisiwin's programme criteria and guidelines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer and group facilitation skills
  • Experience completing quarterly statistical and narrative reporting
  • Excellent ability to work in compliance with deadlines with minimum supervision
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • A clear Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) which includes screening for vulnerable position will be a condition of the employment offer
  • Knowledge of Ojibway language an asset.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification an asset.
