Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA) – based out of Caledon ON, serving residential, commercial, and industrial properties across the GTA

Job Type: Full-time, year-round preferred (approx. 40 hours per week)

Schedule: Seasonal position April-Nov (opportunities available for winter snow operations)

Typically, 4×10-hour days, with occasional weekend shifts during peak seasons.

Pay: $25–$30 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Performance incentive – complete weekly scheduled work efficiently (under 40 hours) and still receive full weekly pay

Onocon Group is seeking reliable, experienced Landscape Maintenance Crew Leaders / Lead Hands to join our property maintenance teams. Through Onocon Property Management, we deliver year-round landscape maintenance, lawn care, seasonal clean-ups, and snow/ice removal for residential, commercial, and industrial clients across the Greater Toronto Area. As a Crew Leader, you will lead small crews (teams of 2–4), ensure high-quality work, drive efficiency, and represent Onocon's commitment to safety, reliability, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead, supervise, train, and motivate a crew of 2–4 in daily landscape maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, string trimming, blowing, pruning, weeding, mulching, fertilizing, planting, seasonal clean-ups, and site cleanup.

· Execute daily/weekly routes and schedules; assign tasks, adapt as needed, and ensure jobs are completed efficiently, on time, and to contract specifications.

· Perform hands-on work alongside the crew to maintain quality standards, set the pace, and support team productivity.

· Conduct site inspections, track progress (via mobile app)

· Enforce all Health & Safety rules and regulations, including WHMIS, proper PPE use, equipment checks, and safe work practices.

· Maintain company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment (daily checks, cleaning, minor issue reporting).

· Uphold Onocon standards: always in uniform, maintain personal hygiene, keep worksites clean during and after jobs.

Qualifications/Skills – Landscape & Snow

· Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in landscape maintenance, groundskeeping, or related field (residential/commercial preferred).

· Previous crew leader, foreman, or supervisory experience strongly preferred.

· Valid Ontario G-class driver's license with clean driving abstract (AR license or higher is an asset).

· Proven ability to operate landscape equipment including lawnmowers (push, ride-on, zero-turn), trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, and compact equipment (skid-steers, mini excavators, loaders – an asset).

· Working outdoors in all weather conditions.

· Strong organizational, time-management, multi-tasking, communication (verbal/written), and problem-solving skills.

· Reliable, punctual, hardworking, safety-focused, and able to work effectively both independently and in a team.

· WHMIS certification (mandatory).

· Working at Heights and/or Standard First Aid (preferred).

· Physically able to meet job demands: lift 50+ lbs, bend/kneel for full shifts, work in varying weather.

Work Conditions

· Primarily outdoors in all weather conditions/environments, with occasional indoor tasks.

· Exposure to moving mechanical parts/equipment; constant proper use of provided PPE (hard hat, safety vest, glasses, gloves, etc.).

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs overhead and perform physical demands of the role.

· Flexibility for extended hours, evenings, weekends, holidays during peak seasons or winter events.
