Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Electrician to join our team and gain hands-on experience in electrical systems within construction and industrial environments. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to develop skills under the supervision of experienced electricians, working on a variety of projects that include commercial, industrial, and low-voltage electrical installations. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in electrical work, a solid understanding of safety protocols, and a willingness to learn and grow within the electrical trade.
Duties
- Assist licensed electricians with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on construction sites and industrial facilities.
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform wiring, conduit bending, and other electrical tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installation of electrical components.
- Work with low voltage and high voltage systems in accordance with NEC standards.
- Operate testing equipment such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
- Follow safety procedures including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA regulations.
- Support framing carpentry tasks related to electrical installations when necessary.
- Assist with blueprint reading and schematic interpretation for various projects.
- Collaborate with team members on construction sites to ensure timely completion of tasks while maintaining safety standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or familiarity with industrial or commercial electrician work is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Experience with blueprint reading, schematics, NEC codes, low voltage, and high voltage systems is advantageous.
- Construction site experience is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with safety protocols and work environments.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career as an electrician with a willingness to learn technical skills related to electrical systems.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in physically demanding environments.
- Good problem-solving skills with attention to detail in troubleshooting electrical issues. This position provides valuable training opportunities for individuals eager to develop their skills in the electrical trade while contributing to meaningful projects across various industries.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.98-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
