We are looking to hire a field service technician based out of Nisku, AB. There will be a mix of shop and field service work. You will operate out of a field service truck to customer locations mostly throughout Alberta, and also by air travel into remote communities. The majority of the job scope will be to troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, Allison transmissions, air/electrical systems on oilfield well servicing equipment such as service rigs and pump trucks, prime power and standby diesel generators, oilfield drilling rig engines, some on highway truck applications, potential CVIP inspection and repair work. There is also local Edmonton/Nisku area customer locations and shop work included.
WE ARE INDUSTRIAL DIESEL ENGINE SPECIALISTS
Experience that is a major asset:
Detroit Diesel and MTU engines, Allison Transmissions, CAT, Cummins, Volvo Penta
Oilfield service rig and pump truck experience, mechanical, air and electrical system troubleshooting, engine controls, diesel engine overhaul and troubleshooting, CVIP inspections, diesel generators.
Requirements:
-Journeyman certificate (HET) with engine experience, or 3rd to 4th year apprentice with above experience may be considered.
-Have your own required standard tools up to 3/4'', high quality torque wrenches up to 1/2'', to operate out of a field service truck. Tooling will be discussed in more detail on hiring.
-Positive attitude, to take pride in workmanship to get the job done right, attention to detail, willingness to learn and be coachable.
-Work out of town with potential to stay overnight in hotels for several days.
-Work outdoors at customer locations in various weather conditions.
-Communicate well and be professional with our clients.
-Flexible work schedule depending on work demand, work overtime after 8 hrs on weekdays, and on weekends occasionally if needed. Standard work schedule will be Monday to Friday 8am to 430pm with 1/2hr lunch.
-Ability to troubleshoot problems, provide solutions and perform repairs independently.
-First aid, H2S tickets up to date
-Clean 5 year drivers abstract required, class 5 driver's license.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
