Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating commercial vehicles over long distances to deliver freight efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, knowledge of heavy equipment operation, and the ability to perform basic automotive repairs when necessary. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on safety, professionalism, and timely deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate large commercial trucks over long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Transport freight efficiently from origin to destination, ensuring timely deliveries
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
  • Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as required
  • Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle logs
  • Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting to address minor mechanical issues during transit
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and potential delays
  • Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and freight handling

Experience

  • Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid CDL license
  • Familiarity with freight handling and logistics operations
  • Experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment is preferred
  • Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus
  • Prior long-haul driving experience is highly desirable
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various conditions
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial transportation
