Position: General Labourer

The Company: APEL Extrusions

APEL Extrusions Limited is an independent extruder, finisher and fabricator of aluminum profiles servicing the commercial, residential, and industrial markets of Western Canada. Situated in Calgary, Canada, APEL Extrusions occupies 110,000 square feet of modern manufacturing space employing approximately 110 people.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a high hazard work environment
  • Perform general physical activities such as loading, unloading, pushing, pulling, lifting, and moving material by hand or with basic equipment.
  • Count pieces of material accurately. After bundling material, record and complete daily production forms and lot tickets.
  • Use a cut off saw to cut wood when packaging
  • Complete daily productioh forms and lot tickets
  • Train new General Labourers
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in work areas
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and regulations
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing plant or similar environment.

Working conditions:

Must be able to work-shifts including days, afternoons and evenings. The working environment is noisy and temperature is warm / hot and can fluctuate.
