Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our construction and heavy machinery team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating of heavy equipment, including excavators. This role requires mechanical knowledge and experience with construction machinery to support large-scale projects and ensure smooth operations on-site. The Equipment Operator will play a vital role in maintaining safety standards while delivering high-quality work across diverse job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators with precision and adherence to safety protocols
  • Conduct routine inspections and perform basic maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance
  • Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, loading, and material handling tasks
  • Follow project plans and instructions from supervisors to complete tasks efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents or injuries on site
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment use and project timelines
  • Excavate, backfill, grade as needed.
  • Help ground crew when required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating heavy machinery including excavator
  • Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred or required based on job site needs
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards and practices
  • Strong physical stamina with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Prior experience with heavy equipment operation is a requirement
  • Commitment to safety procedures and quality workmanship

Requirements

  • Previous experience in civil construction, pipework, grades knowledge and equipment operating skills a must.
  • Class 5 license and own transportation required.
  • Minimum 2 years excavator experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
