Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Local Truck Dispatcher to coordinate and manage daily freight operations within our transportation network. The ideal candidate will utilize advanced transportation management systems and communication tools to ensure efficient dispatching, optimize routes, and maintain seamless logistics flow. This role requires strong analysis skills, excellent communication, and proficiency with various industry software to support our supply chain and fleet management objectives.

Duties

  • Dispatch and coordinate local and regional drivers for shipments across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia
  • Track and monitor freight movement in real time to ensure on-time delivery
  • Communicate with customers, drivers, and warehouse teams regarding shipment status
  • Update internal TMS systems with shipment progress, delays, and delivery confirmations
  • Handle any discrepancies, issues, or delays professionally and efficiently
  • Plan daily routes, manage driver schedules, and monitor compliance
  • Ensure proper documentation is completed (BOLs, PODs, customs paperwork if required)
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships with clients and carriers
  • Work closely with the operations team to optimize freight efficiency
