Job Summary
As the Part-Time Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records and supporting financial operations of the farm. You will work closely with management to ensure accurate accounts, reliable reporting, and timely processing of financial transactions. This role is one or two days a week on site and ideal for someone with bookkeeping experience who enjoys working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and categorize daily financial transactions (accounts payable/receivable).
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a regular basis.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Prepare and assist with month-end and year-end financial reports.
- Support payroll processing and documentation.
- Assist with payroll processing.
- Assist with HST reporting, tax remittances, and statutory filings.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations.
- Communicate with management regarding financial status, discrepancies, and insights.
Qualifications
- Proven bookkeeping experience (small business or agriculture sector preferred).
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of payroll, tax remittances, and compliance processes is an asset.
- Experience with payroll and HST/GST filings
Additional Details
- This is a part-time, on-site position.
- Schedule can be tailored but must accommodate regular posting and reconciliation cycles (e.g., weekly or bi-weekly tasks).
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
