Qualifications:
§ Early Childhood Education Diploma
§ Three to Five years experience in childcare settings - Preferably 2 years experience working with each age group the Centre provides care for. (For example, 2 years experience with toddlers, 2 years experience with preschool aged, etc.)
§ Membership to the College of Early Childhood Educators
§ Valid CPR/First Aid/Criminal Reference Check/ up to date immunization records
Job Summary:
To oversee Centre operations, which include but are not limited to;
§ Ensure Program is aligned with Centre's philosophy and complies with all Ministry, Public Health and Fire Regulations.
§ Staffing – conducting interviews, training, scheduling, evaluating and supporting staff.
§ To maintain up to date, organized and complete records.
§ To address parent concerns, and staff concerns according to policy and procedure outlines.
§ To contact and schedule parents for tours of the centre and maintain the waitlist according to policy and procedures.
§ To Implement and Follow the Chain of Command 1. All staff, students and volunteers report directly to the supervisor. 2. The Supervisor reports directly to the Licensee.
§ To Ensure the procedures required for carrying out the policies of Guide and Grow Daycare Centre are followed for the fulfillment of the goals and objectives of the centre.
Job Duties:
1. Ensure that the centre complies with all legal requirements
Recognize, document and take action in case of suspected abuse, illness or accident, reporting the incident as a serious occurrence.
Inform the Licensee of all visits and reports from the licensing authorities.
Ensure insurance documents and all policies are accurate and filed in the policy manual.
2. Ensure that Guide and Grow Daycare Centre operational policies are implemented
Establish and maintain the Centralized Waitlist.
Enroll children on the priority basis as per the Centre's Waitlist procedures.
Establish and update children's records including registration forms, medical records and permission forms.
Establish and review logbook daily, monitoring consistent use by staff. Ensure that staff carry out and document daily playground inspections. Establish, carry out, and review monthly and annual playground inspections.
Ensure daily medication forms are signed and medication is administered and documented properly.
Meet all new parents/guardians enrolling their children in the centre and review the parent handbook, introduce staff and provide a tour of the centre.
Review parent handbook, updating policies and procedures as changes occur. Maintain updated information on individual children's diet and/or allergies.
Ensure that your staff does weekly program plans and that they are appropriate for the age group.
Arrange parent/guardian and program staff meetings and interviews as requested by either parents/guardians or staff.
3. Ensure on going supervision of centre staff and implementation of centre's personnel policies
Update job descriptions to reflect centre policies and responsibilities. Maintain complete staff files.
Appoint a designate in case of Supervisor's absence. Interview and hire new staff in consultation with the Licensee. Provide orientation for new staff members.
Carry out annual performance reviews with all staff members. Update personnel files yearly.
Plan and hold staff meetings. Distribute minutes and reports from the meetings to all staff and the Licensee.
Approve staff time off.
4. Ensure accurate financial information is maintained
Maintain complete, accurate financial records including parent fees, receipts for fees, petty cash and fundraising money.
Provide fee invoices to parents/guardians the last week of each month. Prepare and distribute annual tax receipts by February 28th.
5. Promote the centre in the community
Duties and responsibilities may be amended at the discretion of the Licensee within reason, as required.

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
