Community Living Worker

Queens County Residential Services, a not-for profit organization, is seeking a highly motivated and responsible individual for the position of Community Living Worker. This position will be responsible for giving quality service to persons with an intellectual disability in an assigned Program.
REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate, as part of a team, will demonstrate sound judgement in the performance of all duties, working within the parameters of the Mission, Vision, Values, and Policies and Procedures of QCRS Inc., and will:
(1) have a grade 12 diploma, a minimum of one year experience (work or volunteer hours) in the field of Human Services, with post-secondary training in a recognized community college program in Human Services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience working in a health or social services field.
(2) clearly demonstrate skills in:
-facilitating interests of and activities for the individual clients in the home, with an ability to produce positive results on a consistent basis;
-meeting performance standards consistently within a challenging and dynamic environment;
-establishing and achieving goals and objectives in a team approach;
-implementing, monitoring, and evaluating individual case plans;
-communicating effectively (verbal and written);
-ability to work with clients with complex emotional, behavioural and physical needs;
-identifying and using community resources and contacts; and
-understanding and using non-violent crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques.
(3) be able to work with minimal supervision and
(4) be able to work flexible hours currently within a 24/hr shift model with average of min 6 hrs to
up to 26 hrs shifts. Shift model can change due to operational needs.
(5) have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (upon request) and Drivers Abstract if required.
This full-time, unionized position is entitled to a group insurance plan, group registered pension plan and vacation and sick leave benefits.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $51,635.58-$60,915.71 per year
