Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Supervisor – Parks North, assists with the day-to-day management of the campground operation at Trowbridge.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Registers all vehicles and campers, collects appropriate fees, and assigns sites.
  • Undertakes routine checks of campsites to inspect vacancies, cleanliness, and behaviour of occupants.
  • Opens and closes the facility and liaises with contract security on a daily basis.
  • Processes payments, prepares deposits, and reconciles transactions from the campground and store.
  • Maintains prescribed records, including the registration system and security.
  • Reports campsite or cabin maintenance issues to designated staff.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

  • Secondary school diploma
  • Post-secondary education and/or experience in business or customer service would be an asset

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with the public
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide courteous and helpful service to the public
  • Ability to use a computer and applicable software to input, edit, and retrieve information
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • A working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act as it applies to this work

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends
  • Must undergo a successful Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
