Waterproofing Technician
Job Description

A Waterproofing Technician is responsible for performing waterproofing and sealing tasks to protect buildings and structures from water damage. They apply various waterproof materials and techniques to ensure water resistance and durability. The Technician should have a strong understanding of waterproofing principles and be able to work independently or as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities
  • Inspect buildings and structures to identify areas in need of waterproofing
  • Prepare surfaces for waterproofing by removing debris, cleaning, and repairing as necessary
  • Apply waterproof coatings, membranes, and sealants to different surfaces
  • Install and repair waterproofing systems such as drainage systems, sump pumps, and gutters
  • Ensure all work is done according to industry standards and building codes
  • Participate in waterproofing design and planning meetings
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as architects and engineers, to develop effective waterproofing solutions
  • Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Troubleshoot and repair waterproofing issues as they arise
Essential Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in waterproofing or related field
  • Good knowledge of waterproofing materials, products, and techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills
Desired Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in waterproofing
  • Experience with membrane installation and sealant application
  • Knowledge of different waterproofing systems and technologies
  • Certification in waterproofing or related field
  • Valid driver's license
