GAMEPLAY ANIMATION INTERN
What You'll Do

We are looking for a Gameplay Animation Intern to join us on the Fortnite Events Team As part of the team you will create animations that tell the ongoing story of the Fortnite universe which players engage with during special events. You will work closely with your animation lead to develop your animation skills and learn the tools and systems used to create our animations, building a memorable experience for our players.

In this role, you will

• Create character-specific animations directly in Unreal Engine using our in-house rigs and tools for Fortnite Events
• Work closely with a mentor to improve your own animation skills and help build a strong work ethic
• Collaborate with other artists & designers to create assets conforming to the visual design and style of Fortnite
• Help develop new features and processes within the animation team
• Consistently meet project deadlines on time, while keeping artistic integrity intact

What we're looking for

• An animation reel showing exceptional key-framed character and creature animations with facial animation included
• Proficiency with animation software and tools such as Blender, Maya, Unreal, or similar
• Experience creating realistic and stylized motions
• Proactively collaborates with teammates to solve creative and technical challenges
• Big Bonus: Experience with Unreal Engine animation and sequencer
• Big Bonus: Experience creating narrative animations, and mocap cleanup

This internship has a flexible start date in 2026. Recruitment will be ongoing until teams find an ideal match.
