Winter Supervisor

Overview

The selected candidate will be responsible for the management of the onsite teams on large commercial retail sites in the Clearing, Removing and De-Icing/Salting of assigned site(s) during winter events. This person will work directly with the Onsite operators to ensure all areas are completed to the given expectations and guidelines of the contracted scope of work. The Candidate will be responsible for inspecting sites as to quality of completed tasks including to confirm all areas completed as tasked, proper placement of snow piles, adequate usage of salt. Hill County expects punctuality, attention to detail and the ability to work long hours for the duration of storms and events to be key traits when hiring for this position.

Duties

• Will be responsible for the Quality and efficiency of Snow clearing and Salting teams.
• Managing and maintaining Manpower, equipment and product supply of sites for the purpose of maintaining safety and accessibility of the sites through the winter season.
• Maintain open communication with Employees, Operational Manager, Site contacts.
• Will be responsible for the recruitment and hiring/firing of staff and manpower throughout the winter season
• They must be capable of managing sites in a productive and thorough manner allowing access to be unhindered during storms
• Perform Inspections of sites after each event
• Perform call outs and pre storm calls to operators
• Perform equipment inspections
• Interact with facility (onsite) managers concerning scope of work details and concerns
• Manage onsite and offsite salt storage levels to ensure no lack of inventory or shortages occur.
• Assess employee performance and recommend next steps/actions when needed
• Organize basic mechanical maintenance and reporting of service issues, upkeep of equipment including but not limited to: Air pressure of tires, fluid levels, greasing, fueling and washing, make maintenance and repair calls and assessments as needed
• Site, job and equipment logs to be filled out and completed with high level of detail and accuracy for reporting purposes
• Provide onsite direction and training to new employees
• Maintain a neat and orderly workspace and storage area
• Check on equipment during down times to ensure proper operation when they are needed
• Candidate must be available 24/7 October 1st through to April 30th each season
• Long hours may be required including shifts longer than 12 hours.
• confirm and deliver timesheets of teams weekly for payroll purposes using computer skills
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• Minimum DZ License
• 5+ years snow removal experience
• Managerial capabilities
• Computer skills and ability to learn and use assigned apps
• Working cellular phone with data capability
• Reliable means of transportation in all weather conditions
• Physically fit
• Prior experience in snow plowing
• Ability to operate and maintain snow plow equipment
• Knowledge of de-icing techniques and materials
• Strong attention to detail and safety protocols
• Physical stamina to work in cold weather conditions
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Types: Fixed term contract, Seasonal

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: From $4,000.00 per month
