Job Description

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic gymnastics coaches to instruct kindergym summer camp.

You must:

  • Love working with children.
  • Have good class management skills and understand how to re-engage children.
  • Be a great multi-tasker with experience coaching circuit or station based gymnastics classes.
  • Understand how to provide positive feedback, corrections and encouragement to your students to help them grow .

Required Availability & Details

  • June 29th - Sept 4th - Weekdays 8:45am-4:15pm (No camp July 1st & August 3rd) - If there are any weeks/days you cannot work, you must specify the dates with your application.
  • Camp training prior to start date (dates tbd)

Eligible for standard benefits including Vacation Pay, Stat Holiday Pay, CPP, EI.

General Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that each camper is safe, has fun and participates
  • Leading the children through various activities throughout the day including your area of speciality.
  • Planning & leading age appropriate activities for campers based on the rotation schedule provided.
  • Practicing risk management and ensuring that the space is set up properly prior and during each activity
  • Ensuring the space is clean at the end of the day and that lunches, crafts, equipment, etc. has been cleaned up.
  • Supervising and keeping campers safe at our gym and on any excursions to parks and other places
  • Engaging with parents at pick up and drop off times
  • Mediating conflicts between campers or parents and reporting issues to gym management
  • Enforcing Cirque-ability policies, rules and camp guidelines
  • Treating campers, parents and co-workers with respect at all times
  • Contributing in a positive way to our gym's positive, inclusive and friendly culture.
  • Completion of incident reports, camp logs, and staff evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Reading staff guidelines and instructions and following all protocol.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience coaching Kinder Gymnastics
  • Standard First Aid & CPR Level C (or proof of enrolment in a course prior to start date)
  • NCCP Gymnastics Foundations certificate (required)
  • Vulnerable Sector Background Check (required at time of hiring)

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal

Contract length: 10 weeks

Pay: $27.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
