The County of Elgin is looking for students who have successfully completed their first year of a Nursing program to work as a Personal Support Worker over the summer at Terrace Lodge 
 
Terrace Lodge is a 100-bed long-term care home in the Township of Malahide. Our home is situated in beautiful Elgin County and features private and semi-private accommodation with 24-hour nursing care. Outdoor areas to relax with family, as well as living and dining areas, are available for resident enjoyment. A host of entertainment and recreational programs, animal-assisted therapy, spiritual care, and exercise programming are available.
 
Position Title: PSW Nursing Student
Type: Temporary, Part-time
Compensation: $30.87/hour as per collective agreement
# of Vacancies: 6 new vacancies
 
About the Role:
As a PSW Nursing Student, you will work alongside our Personal Support Workers to provide daily care to all residents in accordance with established routine procedures.
 
Your responsibilities include:

Providing personal care such as bathing, dressing, and transfers
Assisting with meals and nutrition support
Tidying resident rooms and common areas
Performing minor treatments and reporting health observations
Responding to call bells with attentiveness and empathy
Participating in care planning through daily reports
Supporting inclusive, respectful, and equitable care delivery
Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Must have successfully completed 1st year of a Nursing program from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Must have completed school placements in a long-term care home, hospital, or community setting.
Must provide proof of returning to full-time post-secondary school in Fall 2026.
Experience in Geriatrics or equivalent.
Demonstrates a commitment to the delivery of safe, efficient care to the personal needs of residents.
