About the role

As Information Systems Architect, you will play a strategic role in shaping the future of the Port of Québec's technological ecosystem. Reporting to the Chief of Technologies, you will design, plan, document, and oversee the implementation of innovative IT solutions that align with the organization's strategic vision.

Key responsibilities

  • Define the long-term technical vision and IT strategy of the organization
  • Design system architectures (applications, data, infrastructure) and select appropriate technologies
  • Lead modernization and migration projects for existing systems
  • Ensure performance, reliability, and security across all architectures
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and system diagrams
  • Establish and enforce standards and frameworks based on best practices
  • Collaborate with development, operations, security, and business teams to deliver tailored solutions
  • Act as technical expert and mentor to guide internal and external teams
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend integration when relevant
  • Supervise system deployment and ensure compliance with organizational objectives
  • Drive continuous improvement and monitoring of IT systems

Profile we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
  • 9+ years of experience in systems administration, including significant experience as a Systems Architect
  • Experience in digital transformation projects and change management
  • Strong background in budgeting and resource management
  • Deep understanding of business processes (sales, finance, production) and ability to translate them into IT strategies
  • Expertise in Cloud architectures (AWS, Azure – certification is an asset)
  • Solid knowledge of operating systems, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and networking technologies
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Intermediate English proficiency
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Team-oriented leadership with a focus on mentoring
  • Results-driven and highly professional
