Reporting to the Head of Quality and Continuous Improvement, the
Quality Assurance Supervisor
plays a key role in supporting Quality Department objectives and ensuring quality processes are effectively implemented across the organization. The role provides day-to-day leadership to the QA team, guiding and supporting team members while holding them accountable to established processes and expectations. The ideal candidate brings hands-on quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment, including writing and reviewing SOPs, and general QA/QC activities, along with a strong understanding of GMP-based quality systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Quality and Good Production Practices are followed while providing hands-on technical support to production and cross-functional teams
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to the QA team, including assigning work, setting priorities, monitoring workload, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables
  • Train, coach, and mentor direct reports to build technical competence, accountability and a strong quality mindset
  • Ensure QA team members consistently follow approved procedures and internal quality standards
  • Coordinate and support internal audits, inspections, and regulatory readiness activities, and track follow-up actions
  • Develop, review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality documentation
  • Oversee non-conformance reporting, investigations, and trending, including support of CAPAs and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee qualification and validation activities, including equipment assessments and new or updated production processes
  • Support onboarding and training of new QA team members
  • Contribute to Quality Department goals, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Expectations:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant science (Quality Assurance, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Science or related field)
  • 3+ years of experience working in Quality role with experience in a regulated manufacturing environment such as: food & beverage, pharmaceutical, natural health products, or other consumer goods adhering to regulatory bodies such as CFIA, Health Canada, FDA, NCR etc.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including guiding, coaching, and holding direct reports accountable
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and escalation when needed
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and adaptable

  • Must be able to meet required security clearance such as background and police clearances
  • PPE use will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
