Job Summary

The AZ Driver, under the direction of the Logistics Manager, will primarily be responsible for safely delivering product to our customers in a friendly and courteous manner. This position will require high standards of customer service and efficiency. Flexibility of shift is an important requirement for this position and overnight runs may be required.

Job Duties

  • Safe operation of equipment at all times;
  • Courteous and positive communication with customers and job site personnel;
  • Unloading product at customer job sites using a truck-mounted forklift;
  • Strap loads in accordance with load requirements and check load securement on an ongoing basis throughout the day;
  • Pick up product from vendors;
  • Picking up coils from Steel mills and from outside storage locations;
  • Transferring product between Agway locations;
  • Maintain both electronic and paper logs;
  • Perform daily pre-use inspections on all equipment;
  • Wear the company uniform and represent the company in a positive fashion;
  • Perform overnight runs on an as needed basis;
  • Safely operate lifting devices such as the truck-mounted forklifts;
  • Continuously staying in contact with logistics personnel throughout the day as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience driving flatbed trucks;
  • Valid AZ driver's license in good standing, with a clean driver's abstract;
  • Willingness to deliver throughout Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes;
  • Experience operating a Moffett forklift (strong asset);
  • Willingness to complete in-house certification for truck-mounted forklift operation;
  • Proven experience delivering to construction sites (asset);
  • Demonstrated ability to operate material-handling equipment safely and efficiently;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management abilities;
  • Commitment to health and safety practices;
  • Demonstrates honesty, cooperation, and a team-oriented mindset;
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Conditions

  • Use of required personal protective equipment;
  • Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment;
  • Extended periods of sitting, and other physically demanding conditions;
  • Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 25 kilograms.
