Role Responsibilities

Join our dedicated team at the Provincial Campus Based Care Centre, where we provide essential services to support the needs of youth and their families. We are committed to creating a safe, therapeutic, and empowering environment for our youth.

As a Child and Youth Care Team Lead, you will be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team, providing direct services and support to youth. You will ensure the therapeutic and social environment is safe ad secure, develop and follow care plans, and continuously evaluate and monitor the progress of the youth in your care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary care provider for up to two youth, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with allied professionals.
  • Provide various types of support, including group and individual counseling, addiction management, and social skills development.
  • Maintain daily records and complete monthly progress reports.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment by assessing and minimizing risks, conducting searches, and utilizing crisis intervention techniques.
  • Plan and supervise daily activities, including physical, social, and educational activities.
  • Teach living skills and prepare youth for a successful transition to independence.
  • Complete administrative duties, including maintaining accurate records and supervising practicum students.

Qualifications

Requirement:

  • Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Care or related plus 3 years directly related experience
  • Alberta Class 5 Drivers License

Preference will be given to those who have:

  • A high cultural competency in Indigenous experience
  • Child and Youth Care Degree or Diploma
  • Related experience in therapeutic campus-based care setting, working with indigenous populations, working in youth homes, teacher, educational assistant, crisis intervention, family counselling, youth counselling, youth correction work, childcare program development (Teacher, Educational Assistant, Psychologist) and behavioral therapy.
  • Current Certification in First Aid with CPR and Suicide Intervention
  • Experience as a leader and/or Team Lead/Supervisory experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational and task delegation skills
  • Experience in managing interpersonal relations

This position is 38.75 hours per week and works shift schedule of 3 evening shifts (2:45pm – 11:00pm), 3 day shifts (7:00am – 3:15pm), and 3 regular days off.

  • Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
