What will you do?

  • Lead a dynamic team of estate and financial planning specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
  • Develop and execute a forward-looking strategic vision for financial planning, positioning Sun Life at the forefront of the industry
  • Drive growth by expanding our target client base, facilitating intergenerational opportunities and implementing cutting-edge strategies
  • Oversee the development of industry-leading financial planning tools and guidelines, including our One Plan software (powered by Conquest)
  • Collaborate with leaders across Sun Life to identify best practices and growth opportunities while creating followership for the 'culture of planning'
  • Build strong relationships with Regional Distribution leaders and advisors, representing the Estate and Financial Planning Services (EFPS) mandate
  • Analyze industry trends and provide strategic recommendations to enhance our programs and advisor support
  • Ensure consistent quality and effective communication and change management of EFPS strategies to advisors and clients
  • Coach and mentor your team on emerging trends and best practices in estate and financial planning

What do you need to succeed?

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Post-secondary or undergraduate university degree
  • Professional financial planning designation (e.g., CFP, CLU, CA, CPA, LLB, QAFP) or significant progress towards one
  • Advanced knowledge of individual insurance and wealth management products for retail clients
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams across diverse locations
  • Passion for staying current with industry trends, products, and competitive strategies
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
