Occupational Therapist Clinical Advisor/ Ergothérapeute

DESCRIPTION:
Personne qui évalue les habiletés fonctionnelles, détermine et met en œuvre un plan de traitement et d'intervention, développe, restaure ou maintient les aptitudes, compense les incapacités, diminue les situations de handicap et adapte l'environnement dans le but de favoriser une autonomie optimale ; participe à l'enseignement clinique.
FONCTIONS SPÉCIFIQUES (À TITRE INFORMATIF) :
Relevant du directeur des services professionnels et de l'assurance de la qualité – Soins paramédicaux (DPSQA-Allied), la personne travaillera sur :
- Fournir une assistance professionnelle, collaborer à la recherche sur les meilleurs modèles de pratiques en réadaptation;
- Collaborer avec les équipes de réadaptation locales;
- Réaliser des activités visant à identifier et à évaluer les forces et les défis actuels de la pratique en ergothérapie;
- Fournir des conseils concernant la mise en œuvre ou l'amélioration de programmes et / ou de services;
- Participer à des activités d'enseignement ou de formation en réadaptation.
EXIGENCES:
Éducation:
- Maîtrise en ergothérapie ;
- Doit être membre de l'Ordre professionnel des ergothérapeutes du Québec.
Expérience:
- Deux (2) ans d'expérience pertinente ;
- Expérience avec des interventions communautaires et la coordination des plans de services ;
- Expérience de travailler avec des individus, leur famille et des organisations communautaires ;
- Participation à des activités d'enseignement ou de formation en réadaptation.
Connaissances et aptitudes:
Bonne connaissance de la théorie et de la pratique en ergothérapie, des tendances actuelles, du réseau du MSSS et de la réglementation ;
- Compétences cliniques variées : santé communautaire, soins à domicile, soins gériatriques et pédiatriques ;
- Aptitude à identifier et analyser les besoins de la clientèle ;
- Aptitude à communiquer les connaissances théoriques et pratiques, tel qu'appliqué à la formation;
- Excellentes habiletés de communication et d'écoute interpersonnelles ;
- Bonnes compétences de travail d'équipe et compétences d'adaptation.
Langue:
- Maîtrise de l'anglais ;
- Maîtrise du cri ou du français est un atout.
Autre :
- Disposé à voyager dans diverses communautés. Le/la clinicien-ne sera basé à Chisasibi mais peut couvrir les remplacements dans un maximum de quatre communautés;
- Formation en Recherche Participative Active est considéré un atout important.
RÉMUNÉRATION ET AVANTAGES :
- Prime d'isolement et d'éloignement;
- Trois (3) ou quatre (4) sorties par année, selon votre statut avec ou sans personnes à charge, au point d'embauche pour les employés recrutés à plus de 50 km;

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:
Person who assesses the functional abilities of a service user, determines and implements a treatment and intervention plan, develops, restores or maintains abilities, finds ways to compensate for incapacities and attenuate situations of impairment, and adapts the environment in order to promote optimal autonomy. She/he participates in clinical instruction.
SPECIFIC ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS (FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY):
Reporting to the Director of Professional Services and Quality Assurance-Allied Health (DPSQA-Allied), the person will work on:
- Providing professional assistance, collaborate on research on best practice models for rehabilitation;
- Collaborating with local rehabilitation teams;
- Carrying out activities aimed at identifying and evaluating the current strengths and challenges in occupational therapy practice;
- Providing advice concerning the implementation or improvement of programs and/or services;
- Participating in teaching or training activities in rehabilitation;
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Master degree in Occupational Therapy;
- Member of the Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec ;
Experience:
- Two (2) years of pertinent experience;
- Experience with community based interventions and coordination of service plans;
- Experience working with individuals, their family and community organizations;
- Training and experience with participatory action research;
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Good knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice, current trends, and the MSSS Network and regulations;
- Varied clinical skills: community health, home care, geriatric, pediatric;
- Ability in the identification and analysis of the clientele needs;
- Ability to communicate theoretical and practical knowledge, as applied to coaching and training;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Team work capabilities and adaptation skills
Language:
- Fluent in English;
- Fluency in Cree or French is an asset;
Other:
- Willing to travel to various communities. Clinician will be based in Chisasibi but may cover replacements in up to four communities;
- Training in Participatory Action Research is considered a strong asset.
