Job Summary

We're looking for a skilled and motivated CAD Designer / Technologist to join our engineering team. You'll work closely with the Product Development Manager to design, document, and improve our product line. This role also supports production with build-ready documentation and hands-on troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Create and update detailed CAD designs and documentation
  • Improve existing product designs and maintain CAD standards
  • Support production with clear drawings and shop floor assistance
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales and manufacturing teams

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical Design or Technologist Certification
  • 3+ years of CAD design experience
  • Advanced proficiency in SOLIDWORKS (parts, assemblies, weldments, sheet metal, drawings, PDM)
  • Experience with reverse engineering using measurement tools
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques (machining, sheet metal, castings)
  • Valid Driver's Licence

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with heavy machinery
  • Ability to read and produce hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • FEA simulation experience
  • Visualization / rendering skills
