Market sensing is a newly formed innovative capability within the Market Positioning and Strategy team, unique to Dayforce in the HCM market. The market sensing model combines and matches internal and market data, structured and unstructured, into meaningful insights to drive positioning and inform corporate, business, and functional strategies. Next to always-on insights through the market sensing portal, productized market sensing insights are communicated through regular publications across functions (sales, product, marketing) and partners. In practical terms, this means helping teams across Dayforce better understand market trends, customer perceptions, and competitive dynamics through data, dashboards, and insights.
The intern will play a critical part in scaling and extending our market sensing model by adding new sources and evolving our visualizations and data products, to make market sensing more relevant and impactful to our internal partners.
What you'll get to do:
Support ongoing data updates by working with sources such as user reviews, analyst insights, surveys, and win-loss interviews, while learning how data is collected, cleaned, and mapped at scale.
Help build and enhance data visualizations that turn complex data into clear, actionable insights, contributing to dashboards and tools used across the business (including the Market Sensing portal).
Create visualizations and explore the use of AI and custom GPT tools to tailor insights for different teams such as sales, product, marketing, and strategy.
Assist with the preparation of regular reports and insight summaries shared with internal stakeholders.
Skills and experience we value:
Currently enrolled in a university or college program in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, Business/Commerce, Economics, or related fields
Ownership and x-functional collaboration mindset
Passion for using data to understand trends and support decision-making
Foundational knowledge of data extraction, analysis, mapping, and related automation tools.
Proficiency with Excel (lookups, pivots, data cleaning).
Interest or experience in data visualization using tools such as Power BI, as well as curiosity about LLM/AI tools and data storytelling.
Familiarity with Power BI concepts (datasets, refreshes, basic measures/filters) and data QA best practices.
