Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Services

Salary Range:
$125,000 – $150,000

Skyline Recruitment is currently working with a
well-established consulting engineering firm
to recruit a
Senior Electrical Engineer
with strong
building services design experience
across complex and regulated environments.

This role is well suited to a senior electrical professional who enjoys hands-on technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and delivering high-quality electrical designs across sectors such as healthcare, commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-unit residential.

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and stamp electrical designs of varying complexity and scale
  • Lead electrical design strategies for complex building systems, including:
  • Power distribution and generation systems
  • Interior and exterior lighting and lighting control systems
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Voice/data, security, CCTV, public address, nurse call, and related systems
  • Provide technical leadership within the electrical team
  • Lead audits, feasibility studies, investigations, and prepare technical reports
  • Support the ongoing development of internal electrical design standards
  • Mentor intermediate and junior engineers and designers
  • Troubleshoot construction-phase electrical and control issues
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and other engineering disciplines
  • Conduct site visits and provide construction-phase engineering support

Ideal Background

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario
  • 10+ years of electrical building systems design experience
  • Strong exposure to fire alarm and complex electrical systems
  • Experience troubleshooting on-site electrical and control issues
  • Exposure to medium and/or high-voltage systems considered an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of OBC, OESC, CSA, and related codes
  • At least 5 years of building design experience in Canada
  • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
  • Proactive, organized, and comfortable working under deadlines
