Environmental Specialist (Reclamation & Remediation)

Hybrid – Calgary, AB (Field work + 3 days/week in office)

We're hiring an Environmental Specialist with deep experience in oil and gas well reclamation and remediation to apply their expertise in a technology-enabled environment focused on improving how environmental liability and closure work is planned, tracked, and executed across Canada.

This is a hybrid role that blends field-based environmental expertise, client-facing technical discussions, and close collaboration with product and engineering teams. You'll act as a subject matter expert, helping ensure that real-world reclamation and remediation practices are accurately represented and meaningfully improved through software-driven workflows.

This role is well suited for someone who understands the realities of field work, is comfortable advising clients, and is curious about how technology can modernize environmental processes at scale.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in reclamation, remediation, and regulatory requirements across Alberta and Canada
  • Conduct site visits as needed, review sampling data, and provide practical, field-informed recommendations
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to map existing environmental workflows and inform software design
  • Participate in pre-sales and client-facing technical discussions, explaining methodologies, assumptions, and regulatory context
  • Translate environmental best practices into scalable, repeatable, and automated workflows within a digital platform
  • Ensure tools, outputs, and recommendations align with regulatory expectations and industry standards
  • Build familiarity with how technology products are developed and help continuously improve how environmental expertise is embedded in the product

What You'll Bring

  • Professional experience in environmental consulting or operations focused on oil and gas well reclamation and remediation
  • Strong understanding of field practices, including site assessments, sampling programs, and regulatory reporting
  • Deep familiarity with Alberta and Canadian regulations related to abandonment, reclamation, and closure
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfort working directly with clients in advisory or technical discussion settings
  • Interest in how software and technology can improve environmental workflows
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a systems-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small, cross-functional team

Additional Details

  • Full-time role
  • Hybrid work model based in Calgary, AB (field work + in-office collaboration)
  • Opportunity to apply environmental expertise beyond individual projects by influencing tools used at scale
  • Collaborative, mission-driven team working at the intersection of environmental stewardship and technology
