Engineering and design: Providing the electrical architecture, technical specifications, and interface definitions for auxiliary power systems (APU). This involves performing calculations and creating design documentation.
Requirements management: Translate customer and internal train-level requirements into detailed subsystem designs for Propulsions and air supply. This includes defining functional and performance specifications.
Issue resolution: Drive the resolution of technical issues related to the Propulsion systems that arise during design, production, and in-service operation.
Integration: Ensuring the seamless mechanical and electrical integration of the APU sub-system into the train. This requires close collaboration with other engineering disciplines like propulsion, brakes, and train control.
Supplier management: Working with suppliers to validate their equipment offerings and manage the technical relationship to ensure compliance with project and company standards.
Verification and validation (V&V): Defining and executing test procedures, participating in factory and train-level tests, and conducting design reviews to verify the sub-system's functionality.
Documentation and configuration: Prepare and maintain all necessary engineering documentation, such as interface control documents and specifications. Manage change control and product configuration throughout the project lifecycle.
Project management: Planning, monitoring, and controlling all APU-related activities, including schedule, resources, and costs, to meet quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) commitments.
Technical support: Providing expertise and support to the production, commissioning, and service teams, as well as addressing technical issues that arise during revenue service
Safety and reliability: Ensure the Propulsion system's safety and dependability requirements are met. This can involve conducting Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and supporting safety analyses with the RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) team.
Lifecycle support: Provide technical support for the Propulsion subsystem throughout the vehicle's lifecycle, including support for sourcing, production, and maintenance
