We are seeking a dependable, compassionate
respite support worker
to assist a family in
Hantsport, NS
. This role involves providing
one-to-one support
to a teenage individual with developmental support needs in a home setting.

The position focuses on ensuring
safety, supervision, and continuity of care
, while supporting daily routines in a calm, respectful manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive one-to-one supervision
  • Support established routines and activities
  • Assist with
    personal care and hygiene as required
  • Promote a safe, structured, and supportive environment
  • Communicate effectively with caregivers regarding routines and needs
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and reliability

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Background in
    health care, disability support, youth work, education, or a related field
  • Experience supporting individuals with
    complex support needs
    is an asset
  • Physically able
    to provide supervision and hands-on assistance when required
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certification
  • Clear criminal record check
    , including vulnerable sector
  • Reliable transportation
    and ability to travel to Hantsport
  • Calm, patient, and emotionally regulated approach to care

Hours & Schedule:

  • Flexible, casual hours
  • May include
    evenings and/or weekends
  • Approximately
    up to 25 hours per month
    , depending on family needs

Additional Assets:

  • Experience with developmental disabilities or autism support
  • Familiarity with non-verbal communication or structured routines
  • Relevant training or certifications

Compensation:

  • Competitive hourly rate
