Job requirements:

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience.

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Work setting: Restaurant

Personal suitability: ability to work in a fast paced environment, be attention to detail, be good at time management, customer focus, work dependability and be a team player, be organised; be reliable, can perform under pressure for a family restaurant.

Duties include but not limited to:

● The employee is to show up dressed and prepared for work, ten minutes early to know their daily specials.

● They must be on line cooking the menu items and daily specials and following the Smitty's Family Franchise standards.

● The employee must stock and clean their sections everyday using FIFO as well as cleaning the rest of the kitchen as well.

● They must understand all systems of food safety, quality, and cleanliness and proper cleaning of all equipment.

● Supervise kitchen helpers

● May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies.

● They are to help out and do prep or dishes when not making orders.

● Customize meals to accommodate customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions.

● Monitor cleanliness and operational standards in kitchen and service zones

● Instruct kitchen personnel in proper methods of preparing, cooking, and handling food
