Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tow Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to customer service and safety while providing efficient towing and roadside assistance. This role requires 1-5 years experience, mechanical knowledge and the ability to operate various types of tow trucks, ensuring that vehicles are transported safely and securely.
Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks to transport vehicles safely to designated locations.
- Provide roadside assistance, including jump-starts, tire changes, and fuel delivery.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the tow truck to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding service requests and vehicle status.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and any incidents that occur during towing operations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
- Assist with minor automotive repairs as needed to ensure vehicle operability before towing.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns professionally.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) (minimum Class 3a, with a clean driving record. Class 1 A is an added bonus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair and maintenance.
- Previous experience in customer service, demonstrating effective communication skills.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other heavy machinery is a plus.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed and showing up at required scheduled shifts.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks associated with towing operations.
