Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Equipment Operator/ Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of heavy equipment and driving trucks to support our operations team. This role requires a focus on safety, efficiency, and precision to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to industry standards. Experience with laying and picking mats using either an excavator, loader, skid steer with a grapple attachment, haul skid steer with semi truck, is highly desirable. Duties

  • Attend and participate in toolbox talks and Hazard Assessment meetings.
  • Ensure daily FLHA's are completed and submitted daily.
  • Pre-post job inspections on equipment and ensures all equipment is properly maintained (Submitting maintenance request immediately once identified).
  • Oil, grease and clean equipment daily (submitting maintenance requests for supplies).
  • Safely loading and unloading mats from transport trucks
  • Laying/picking mats precisely and safely on client sites
  • Work with Field Supervisor and other operators to maintain an orderly and safe worksite.
  • Ensure mat trackers are completed daily, and submitted prior to leaving site.
  • Ensure mat quality control forms are completed when Field Supervisor is not on site, and submitted prior to leaving site.
  • Collecting all transport trucks BOL's when Field Supervisor is not on site, and submitting prior to leaving site.
  • Take photos of site pre and post job completion when Field Supervisor is not on site.
  • Complete daily time tickets and ensure that all proper information is recorded and submitted prior to leaving the site.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the Field Supervisor or the Superintendent.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate mat movements and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment, or similar machinery in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Valid certification for skid steer operation is preferred.
  • Experience with commercial driving is required.
  • Basic mechanical skills are desirable but not mandatory.
  • Team player
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Capable to work in remote locations
  • Proven hard work ethic
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.
