Crew Lead Painter
Want to become a core leader on a high-standards team? Join Aaron's Painting Company.
Crew Leader – Residential Painting
$30–$34/hr + Performance Bonuses | Company Vehicle | Full-Time | Metro Vancouver
Read this carefully. Most painters should not apply.
Aaron's Painting Company is hiring one experienced Crew Leader to run high-quality residential repaint projects.
This is not a volume crew.
This is not a "figure it out as you go" site.
This is not a place to hide in the background.
This is a leadership role for a painter who takes ownership, runs clean and organized jobs, and sets the standard for quality and professionalism on site.
If you naturally lead, communicate well with homeowners, and want to be rewarded for running efficient, well-executed projects, this will feel like the opportunity you've been waiting for.
If you prefer low accountability or cutting corners, this will be uncomfortable.
Who This Is For
You'll thrive here if you:
- Have 5+ years of professional residential painting experience
- Have led jobs or small crews before
- Care deeply about prep, finish quality, and jobsite cleanliness
- Communicate clearly and confidently with homeowners
- Take responsibility for timelines, quality, and crew performance
- Stay calm under pressure and solve problems instead of escalating them
- Want to grow into higher levels of responsibility over time
You'll hate this role if you:
- Rush prep and hope the finish hides it
- Avoid difficult conversations with clients or team members
- Blame others for missed timelines or quality issues
- Need constant supervision to stay organized
- Prefer to just paint and not lead
About Aaron's Painting Company
We are a premium residential painting company serving Metro Vancouver and surrounding areas. We focus on high-end repaints where professionalism, communication, and craftsmanship matter just as much as the final coat of paint.
Our reputation is built on:
- Friendly, professional, and respectful service
- Exceptional prep and refined finishes
- Calm, organized job sites inside clients' homes
- Clear scopes, realistic budgets, and strong systems
- Long-term client relationships and referrals
We don't compete on being the cheapest.
We compete on being the most professional and reliable.
That only works with strong leaders on site.
The Role (What You'll Actually Be Doing)
As a Crew Leader, you are responsible for the success of the project on site.
You will:
- Lead a crew of 1–3 painters on residential repaint projects
- Review scopes and plan daily production
- Maintain high standards for prep, protection, and finish quality
- Communicate professionally with homeowners throughout the project
- Keep jobs on schedule and aligned with labor budgets
- Identify issues early and solve them proactively
- Report progress and job notes to management
You will have autonomy, but you will also be accountable for results.
Core Responsibilities
- Full prep execution and oversight: patching, sanding, masking, protection
- High-quality paint application (brush and roll required; spray is an asset)
- Ladder work and safe jobsite practices
- Daily jobsite organization and cleanliness
- Directing and supporting other painters on your crew
- Monitoring production pace and labor usage
- Maintaining a professional presence in clients' homes
- Light documentation and communication with management
Non-Negotiable Requirements
- Minimum 3 years professional residential painting experience
- Proven experience leading or directing other painters
- Strong communication skills with clients and team members
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Physically capable of handling painting equipment and materials
- Strong organization and time management
Compensation & Benefits
- $30–$34/hr depending on experience, leadership, and reliability
- Performance bonuses for projects completed on or under budget while maintaining quality
- Company vehicle provided for work use
- Commuting allowance for out-of-town projects
- Extended health and dental benefits after 3 months
This structure rewards leaders who run efficient, high-quality jobs — not people who rush and create rework.
Why You Should Work Here (If You're the Right Person)
- Clear standards — you always know what "excellent" looks like
- Professional clients who respect your work and your leadership
- Organized projects with realistic budgets
- Less chaos, less rework, less stress
- Direct communication and support from management
- Real opportunities to grow into senior leadership or production roles
- A team culture built on respect, competence, and pride in craftsmanship
Strong leaders stay here because they're trusted and supported.
Growth & Advancement
This is a career path, not just a job.
High performers can grow into:
- Production Management roles
We promote based on performance, consistency, and leadership — not just time served.
