We are searching for a Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant to join our Parkstone Enhanced Care team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Prepare and administer individual and group physical therapyAdministers and assists residents with therapeutic intervention programs as developed by the PT and OT, such as range of motion, progressive resistive and stretching, ADLsAssists residents in ambulation, with or without an ambulatory aid, under the direction of the PhysiotherapistDocuments according to policy and procedures (e.g Daily Resident Care Record, resident progress notes, incident reporting, PPCA, Critical Incidents etc.).Observes and monitors residents' response during treatment and responds accordingly to ensure safety; note conditions and progress for reporting to PT/OTMaintains equipment inventory and assists with department audits, cleaning and inspectionsAbout You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
A post-secondary education in Physiotherapy from an approved college or you have a Bachelor's Degree in KinesiologyAbility to provide a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check upon hireU-First training or a Dementia Care Course would be considered an assetPrevious experience working in a long-term care environment would also be considered an assetKnowledge of basic resident care practices and principlesA passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
